MMC 1000 update — upcoming discussion forum this Monday
MMC 1000 students:
I have enjoyed reading your first blogs but just have a couple of reminders:
1) Please fill out the bio section of your blog (under settings) and make sure your first and last name are clearly visible on the blog home page as well as the first entry — the bio of yourself you sent to me. I had a bit of difficulty matching up some of your names with the class roster (and I can’t give you full credit for the first blog assignment until I see your first and last name on a blog).
2) Remember now that you officially have your own blog, you are also now a member of the World Wide Web and that comes with a big responsibility. With your own URL for your blog now, that means worldwide anyone can view your blog, so please make sure you use the grammar/spelling check (the blue check mark in the fonts section above each text post) before posting anything. Go back and use the grammar checker on anything you’ve already posted as well because I did notice a few grammatical/spelling issues on a few posts (you can re edit anything you’ve already posted).
I’ll be hosting some type of “class discussion forum” relating to the media coverage of some of the weather events of the last few weeks (hurricane, earthquake) this Monday evening from 7:30-9 during my “virtual office hours” so please try to have access to a computer during that time (I’ll post more about the format in the next few days).
Since this is a holiday weekend, I won’t hold my “virtual office hours” on Sunday but instead will focus on our Monday “class online discussion.”
